START A BUSINESS OR IMPROVE THEIR EXISTING SMALL BUSINESS
January
2011, Watsonville, CA. El Pajaro Community Corporation- El Pajaro CDC-whose
mission it is to promote equal access to economic opportunity is offering workshops
designed to empower low-income men and women to succeed in business.
El
Pajaro CDC offers low-cost trainings for people who want to start a business or
have a small business they would like to improve or formalize. This is an
opportunity for people to become their own boss.
Introductory
workshops on how to start a food business and general business planning will be
held in January and February with an extended 13 week program beginning in
March. Those who wish to participate in the extended program should attend an
introductory workshop. All trainings are offered in both Spanish and English.
The 13 week educational program includes financial education, training on
planning and managing a business, and assistance in analyzing business ideas. Qualified
graduates of the extended program are eligible to apply for a micro-loan.

transformational power of business ownership. This has been demonstrated by our
clients who have come to our program with an idea and after a few months have been
able to turn their dreams into a business.” “These entrepreneurs are creating
their own jobs as well as creating jobs for others.” The workshops will be held
in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties
beginning January 18th.
